1. Are reservations required?
Reservations are not required but are recommended to guarantee availability.

2. Is there a deposit requirement?
We require a 25% deposit payable at the time of booking. Refunds are available up to 7 days prior to departure.

3. What is the best time to go fishing?
You can enjoy fishing year-round, but the best times for salmon fishing are from May to October.

4. What are the best times for diving?
Diving can be enjoyed year-round. During the winter months, visibility is at its best, and it is only a few degrees colder than summer temperatures.

5. What about other activities?
There is no shortage of things to do while you’re in Chemainus. Guided historical tours, kayaking trips, theatre reservations, and tee times for golf are just a few of the activities we can arrange for you.

6. I understand that all fishing gear is provided, but I want to bring my own rod.
By all means, bring your own fishing gear & tackle if you wish. The use of our gear and tackle is included in the fishing package.

7. We’re from out of town; can you arrange accommodation for us?
Gulf Islands Explorers can arrange accommodations for you. Ask us about our tour & accommodation packages. We also have special dining discounts available.

8. What about children?
We welcome children onboard. We carry life jackets in a variety of sizes.

9. Is there a bathroom?
There is a private head (bathroom facility) onboard.
